Ajax ‘Shining Stars’ honoured with educational bursaries

The Town of Ajax recognized six recipients of the Ajax Shining Star Bursary (ASSB) Program last week at the program’s annual awards ceremony.
The annual program provides underrepresented youth an opportunity to access and achieve success in higher education by providing one or two students from each of the Town’s five high schools with a $1,000 bursary to pursue higher education at the college or university level or an accredited trades/apprenticeships.
This year’s bursary winners are:
- Tharshigan Vithiyananthan
- Morsal Moradi
- Renuka Premnath
- Isaac Thompson
- Remmell Farrell and
- Jyot Adhvary
Ajax Council declared that they are proud of the youth in the community who “continuously prove to shine in their studies, share innovative ideas and perspectives and contribute to creating a bright future that is positive, diverse and inclusive.”
