Ajax Rib Fest is back for Father’s Day in drive-thru format

The highly anticipated Ajax Rotary Rib Fest is back, just in time for Father’s Day weekend.
With Covid restriction still in place, the Ajax Rotary Club wanted to make sure they could still help the numerous charities they support, while still treating Dad (and any other barbecue lover in the family) to racks of ribs, BBQ chicken and all the sides they crave.
So they created the Ajax Rotary Drive-thru Ribfest, which will be held Friday through Sunday at the Ajax Casino/Ajax Downs parking lot, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Once you enter the parking lot you will be directed by a Rotary Club member to where you can order your ribs. You can select from three pitmasters who will be on site: Gator BBQ, Uncle Sam’s and Boss Hog’s.
You then place your order, pay and pick up your ribs. You can also buy from other vendors on site, such as Ontario Corn Roasters and Tiny Tim Donuts.
As a drive-thru-only event, eating food will not be permitted and participants are encouraged to drive home to enjoy their dinner.

As well, to comply with Durham Region of Health regulations regarding COVID-19 tracking for publicly held events, a ribfest questionnaire will need to be completed.
All funds raised go to local charities and community organizations.
