Ajax man on the lam after cutting off ankle monitor

An Ajax man is on the lam after he allegedly removed his ankle GPS monitor.

Michael Nanton-Madden, 28, had been released from custody on the condition he remained under house arrest with his surety in a home near Delaney Dr. and Westney Rd. and kept his ankle monitor on. Durham Region Police did not specify which charges Nanton-Madden was under house arrest for.

However, on May 16 at 11:20 p.m. police received information Nanton-Madden removed the monitor and ran from the scene. He is wanted on two charges of breaching a release order. Nanton-Madden’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

“If anyone sees this male, or knows his whereabouts, please do not approach him and notify police immediately,” investigators said.
