Ajax man dies after car accident Saturday afternoon

An Ajax man has died after an auto accident Saturday afternoon.
The man was driving a grey Acura southbound on Salem Road near Harper Hill Road in Ajax just after 4 p.m. when he lost control of his car on an ‘S’ bend and crossed into the northbound lanes. The Acura was then struck by a white Mercedes.
Both parties were transported to a local hospital. The female driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Acura succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The road was closed for several hours Saturday while members from the Collision Investigation Unit investigated the collision. The roadway is open but the accident is still under investigation.
