Ajax man allegedly commits public indecent acts three days in a row

A man from Ajax is in custody after Durham Regional Police allege he went to the same bus stop for three straight days to commit indecent acts.
The first day, May 24, the man allegedly went to the Durham Region Transit bus stop on Brock St N and Chestnut St E at 8 a.m. Police say he approached two women as they waited for the bus.
He, allegedly, stood by the women and began committed an indecent act through his pants pockets.
Investigators say the man came back to the same intersection the next day, May 25, again at 8 a.m. He allegedly drove up in an Acura TSX, got out of the car and committed another indecency.
Finally on the third day, May 26, the man allegedly returned to Brock St N to commit a third indecent act, once more at 8 a.m. However this time he was closer to the Rossland Rd intersection.
Kannaa Ponniah, 59 of Ajax is charged with three counts of committing an indecent act in a public place and two counts of criminal harassment.

He will remain in custody until a bail hearing. Police are working to ensure there are no further victims.
