Ajax launches public consult for Riverside Dr. housing development

Ajax has launched a public consultation as they weigh a zoning change to allow a housing development on Riverside Dr.
The public meeting concerns a zoning amendment application submitted by Coughlan Homes to allow them to build five detached houses.
The plot of land in question sits on the west side of Riverside Dr. just north Illingworth Ln. The west side of the street is already home to several houses south of the proposed development site, and River Side Golf Club sits on the east side.
The town has already performed numerous assessments and studies to investigate the developments environmental, archaeological, erosion and noise impacts, which can be read on Ajax’s InMyOpinion consultation page. The studies found the proposal meets the provincial, regional and municipal guidelines.
The town is hosting a public meeting on the development on Mar. 7 at 7 p.m via Zoom. Interested residents can register online to receive the meeting password in their email.
