Ajax received its third quarterly payout for hosting its casino for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

The Ontario Lotto and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced a slew of payments on January 18 including Pickering and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation for hosting casinos in their communities.

Ajax specifically received $912,355 in revenue earned between October 1 and December 31. These earnings are based on a formula applied Ontario-wide based on the revenue generated at each casino.

The latest payout brings Ajax’ earnings so far this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, up to $4,239,302. All told the casino has brought the town $101,698,463 since it opened in 2006.

“Payments through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement provide host gaming communities with the support they need to fund programs and critical infrastructure to improve the lives of residents and families,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance.  “With these revenues, municipalities are able to build better communities with more opportunities to live and work.”
