Ajax grandmother wins $50,000 in Daily Keno

An Ajax woman plans to travel with her $50,000 Daily Keno winnings after an evening draw in March.
The mother of five and grandmother of 14, Verna Collins, always checks her tickets at midnight, but this time “couldn’t believe the zeroes.”
“I told my sister about my big win, and she told me to stop lying,” Verna laughed.
Sam’s Food Store & Smoker Discount on Ajax’s Hunt St sold Collins her winning ticket.
The OLG said Collins “sure knows how to pick ’em” since she also won a $5 draw that same night, March 8, bringing her total winnings up to $50,005.
Collins is plans to travel with her winnings to celebrate her upcoming 65th birthday. “It’s a blessing,” she told the Toronto OLG office when she picked up her cheque.

Players who win between $1,000 and $49,999 are encouraged to claim their winnings online. Winners of over $50,000 should call 1-800-387-0098 to arrange a pick-up from the Toronto base.
