Ajax driver charged for speeding while a passenger held newborn baby

Durham police officers charged a driver with failure to ensure a infant is secured on Tuesday after stopping them for speeding.

The cops observed the car in the Salem Road and Blowers Crescent area of Ajax. Once stopped officers noticed a adult passenger in the back seat holding a baby in their arms.

There was no carseat set up for the newborn. One was later found in the trunk.

The drivers has been charged with speeding and failure to secure. Officers made them install the carseat before they left the scene.
