Ajax and Brooklin take top spots for most expensive homes sold in Durham; north Oshawa takes top three least expensive

Oshawa’s University District, as usual, dominated the Zoocasa list of the least expensive homes sold in Durham last month while Whitby – especially the Brooklin community – had half of the six entries for most expensive homes to change hands in March.
At the top of the list, however, was a 3+2 bedroom custom-built home on Ajax’s exclusive Dexshire Drive that came with golf course views, an open concept living area and plenty of upgrades and sold March 23 for $3 million.
Brooklin took #2 and #3 on the list, with a spectacular three-bedroom bungalow on North Street that sold for $2.125 million and a custom stone and brick home in the heart of Brooklin on Queen Street that sold for $2.1 million.
The Queen Street home came with vaulted ceilings, granite tops in the kitchen, professionally landscaped grounds and a basement perfect for entertaining.
Numbers four and five on the list of most expensive homes sold last month in Durham were both in Pickering, including a home on Highbush Trail that sold for $1,940,786.
At #5 was a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom country estate on two acres and with 3,500 sq. ft. of living space on Concession Road – “mid-century modern meets cozy cottage” – that was released for $1.925 million.

Number six was back in Whitby and very near Brooklin on Ward Street next to Heber Downs Conservation Area. This home sold for $1.725 million.
Three bachelor units took the top places for least expensive sold in March, all located in Oshawa’s north end University District.
Both #1 and #3 were in the same building at 1900 Simcoe St. N., including a condo that sold for just $255,000 – still more than $70,000 higher than the selling price from August 2020 – and another that was let go for $280,000.
Number two on the list was a unit in nearby 1800 Simcoe St. N. that sold March 8 for $270,000.
A one-bedroom, 700 sq. ft apartment with wall-to-wall windows letting in lots of natural light and with great views of Oshawa’s downtown came in at #4. The unit, at 55 William St. E, sold for $360,000.
Number five was a centrally located one-bedroom condo at 711 Rossland Rd. E in Whitby with a sunroom (that can be converted to an office) and free underground parking that sold for $425,000.
Number six was a one-bedroom unit at 92 Church Street in Ajax close to Duffins Creek and the Pickering Casino. The apartment sold for $430,500.
