A relatively new airline flying out of Pearson Airport in Mississauga has added to its fleet of passenger jets as it continues to expand its service.

Calgary-based Lynx Air, an ultra-affordable Canadian carrier that launched in early 2022, took delivery on May 1 of its seventh aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Lynx Air president and CEO Merren McArthur said last week that the additional aircraft will enable the company to expand its North American network and “offer our ultra-affordable fares and great flying experience to more Canadians.”

Lynx Air landed its first flight on the Pearson tarmac on April 11, 2022 and since then has steadily expanded. Airline officials said earlier that their goal is to make air travel accessible to all Canadians with ultra-low fares and their fleet of new Boeing 737 aircraft.

The carrier serves a number of Canadian cities including Toronto, Hamilton, Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria. American cities served include Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Phoenix and Lynx also flies five times weekly from Pearson Airport to Orlando.
