An air quality warning has been issued for part of southern Ontario.
The yellow alert was issued by Environment Canada for areas including Goderich, Sarnia, southern Huron County, western Lambton County, and eastern Lambton County.
The weather agency said that high levels of air pollution are possible Friday afternoon.
“An air quality warning is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon,” the alert said.
“Moderate-risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high-risk AQHI values in the afternoon.”
Environment Canada said when air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors.
“Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.
“You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough.”
