Mississauga lottery winner one step closer to claiming big prize.

A Mississauga woman who won $1 million in the lottery last month is one step closer to claiming the big cash prize.

Hyoshin Kim won the life-changing money playing the OLG’s Merry Millions on Jan. 9.

However, since she’s employed at a lottery retailer, the claim falls within OLG’s definition of an “insider win.”

“Hyoshin did not purchase or validate the ticket at her place of employment.

Claims of $10,000 or more made by insiders require enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period prior to payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket,” the OLG said in a news release.

Officials added that the $1 million prize will be paid to the claimant on March 25, pending no additional claims prior to that date.

“It is OLG’s goal to ensure that the right prize is paid to the right person every time,” the OLG said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Silvercreek Convenience, on Silver Creek Boulevard in Mississauga.
