As it turned out, Wen Biao Huang picked the right occasion to buy a lottery ticket.

The Mississauga man, who says he has played the lottery “occasionally for the last 20 years,” won $100,000 in the Aug. 4 Lotto Max draw when his ticket numbers matched the last six of seven winning Encore numbers in exact order.

The food industry worker says this is his first big win in two decades of trying — occasionally.

Huang and his wife scanned their ticket using the OLG App and when “Big Winner” appeared on the screen, they did a double take. The couple couldn’t believe it, at first.

“It’s very exciting. I feel happy,” Huang shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

The lucky ticket holder says he plans to pay down his mortgage and then save the rest of his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer on the Run, on Mavis Road in Mississauga.
