Stolen car crashes into tree in Mississauga, sending driver to hospital

A single-vehicle collision occurred earlier today (Aug. 23) after a stolen vehicle crashed into a tree in Mississauga.

According to Peel Regional Police, the incident took place at the intersection of Kennedy Rd and Derry Rd. around 12:50 p.m.

The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle and the male driver was taken to the hospital, whose condition remains unknown at this time.

Police have not disclosed information on the charged laid at this time.

Due to the collision and the subsequent investigation, the northbound lanes of Kennedy Rd have been temporarily closed at Abilene Dr.

Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes of travel.
