Action hero Chuck Norris has died. He was 86.

Action hero Chuck Norris has died in hospital in Hawaii.

His family confirmed the actor’s death on his Instagram page.

He was 86 and died yesterday (March 19) after experiencing a medical emergency.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” the message reads.

A martial arts expert, Norris gained international attention in 1972 when he battled Bruce Lee in the movie The Way of the Dragon, considered an epic moment when the two greats came together.

Later, he starred in his own hit films Lone Wolf McQuade and Missing in Action and later on TV in Walker, Texas Ranger.

To younger audiences, he was known for the playful memes that circulated online that highlighted his seeming invincibility.

But, despite being a symbol of strength, his family said he will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of the family.

“He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved,” the message continues. “Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”
