A man accused of multiple sex crimes including a charge of interference on a youth could be hiding out in Ontario, police say.

The RCMP has issued a Canada-wide warrant for Jonathan Brown, a 36-year-old from New Brunswick after police say the man didn’t show up for trial over four years ago.

Mounties say Brown was charged with multiple offences, including sexual assault and sexual interference on a youth back in January 2019.

The 36-year-old pleaded not guilty and was scheduled to attend court for trial on Nov. 7, 2019.

More than four years later, police now say they have reason to believe Brown could be in Ontario. Investigators say he is known to frequent the Waterloo-Kitchener region as well as the Sussex-Hampton region of New Brunswick.

Brown is described as approximately 5’7″ (170 CM) tall, and weighing approximately 159 pounds (72 kilograms). He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Police have released an image of Brown and are asking members of the public to contact police if they’ve seen him, but say not to approach the man.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jonathan Brown is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by submitting an anonymous tip to www.crimenb.ca.
