Oakville MP Anita Anand says some of her federal election signs posted in her riding have been damaged or have disappeared.

The Minister of Public Services and Procurement mentioned the vandalism in response to a series of tweets by Minister of Public Safety and fellow Liberal MP Bill Blair, who was informed Tuesday morning that a number of his signs had been taken from lawns and dumped in a wooden area in Scarborough.

“This is happening to my signs in #Oakville also,” Anand tweeted out Tuesday afternoon. “About 25 per cent of my signs have been defaced, damaged or have simply disappeared.”

Blair called out the behaviour, saying it’s criminal, undemocratic, and un-Canadian.

“As all parties continue sharing their ideas, promises, and platforms throughout #elxn44 let’s respect and look out for each other – its the right, and Canadian, thing to do,” he said in a tweet.
