A well-known company is adding over 60 jobs in Mississauga

The Citi Solutions Centre in Mississauga is expanding, since it will be the strategic hub for the financial services giant’s new North American internal audit division.

In a release on Tuesday, Citibank Canada stated that over 60 positions will be added at Citi’s offices at 5900 Huronontario Street. The move is expected to expand the some 2,000-strong workforce there by about three per cent.

“We are obviously pleased with the decision to base these important global roles here in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area),” Citibank Canada CEO John Hastings stated. “The high level of talent here is well regarded throughout Citi’s global network.”

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie made note that the expansion comes at a time when many major companies have scaled back operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which began in the winter of 2020.

“This is a true testament to Mississauga’s incredibly strong financial services sector and strong business climate,” Crombie stated.

Citi’s other strategic hubs for internal audits are based in Dallas, New York, and Tampa, Fla.
