Three workers at the Fortinos at Fiesta Mall in Stoney Creek have now tested positive for COVID-19.

According to an update on Tuesday (Nov. 3) and posted to the Loblaw’s Company website, the latest confirmed case was last in the store on Sunday (Nov. 1).

The previous cases were last in the store on Oct. 27 and 29th.

“In all of our stores, we encourage our colleagues and employees to wear masks, particularly where physical distancing is not always possible,” the company’s website says.

“Given the important role we play in our communities, we are prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in our stores. In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores.”

Hamilton’s Public Health Services have not declared an outbreak at this Fortinos, located on Highway 8 in lower Stoney, and they do not comment on individual cases.

On Monday, an outbreak was declared at Castelli Cucina Restaurant on James North after three staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

According to public health’s workplaces and COVID-19 guidelines, an outbreak is declared when “one or more cases of COVID-19 is associated with a workplace.”
