If you want to dine out in Streetsville and give back to the city, you are in luck — the Taste of Streetsville event is set to kick off in the village on Sept. 8 and run until Oct. 6.

Organized by the Streetsville BIA, the annual event raises funds for Trillium Health Partners, Credit Valley Hospital and money raised at this year’s event will be directed towards the redevelopment of the emergency department at Credit Valley. So, if you come out to enjoy the event, you’ll get to sample some excellent gems and help out the community.

It’s also really nice to see Mississauga neighbourhoods coming together to promote their food scene and, by extension, local restaurateurs.

On the food side of things (charitable component aside, we know a lot of you are in it for the delicious outings), participating restaurants will offer special Taste of Streetsville prix-fixe menus for $30 and proceeds from every meal will be donated to the hospital.

Participating restos include Andiamo Pasta Plus, Cagney’s, Enzo’s Two Guys from Italy, The Franklin House and Saucy. Smaller participating restos may also be announced in the coming days.

You can see each resto’s prix-fixe menu here. All the restaurants are offering three-course meals, so you can enjoy a filling and flavourful night for less than you would spend on three courses otherwise — and you get to help people while doing it.

When you order off a prix-menu at a participating resto, you’ll also receive a ballot for a chance to win a gift basket made by that establishment.
