A 'secret' restaurant has opened in a trendy Toronto neighbourhood

A new jazz bar, with a secret twist, has opened in a popular Toronto neighbourhood.

Named ‘Don’t Tell,’ this new jazz bar seemingly appeared overnight on Toronto’s Ossington Ave, having had its grand opening last weekend.

From what is known about this mysterious locale, it has a keen focus on elegance, live music, and — as described by its official Instagram page —“surprises.”

From what can be gleaned, Don’t Tell’s interior is inspired by that of an elevated speakeasy nightclub, with red curtains, candlelight, a stocked backbar, and plenty of stage space for talent to show off.

The location also has a stacked menu of luxury delights, including caviar, oysters, and scallop sashimi, all built on a bedrock of Asian and French cuisine.

Which makes sense, as the rest of the menu showcases dishes like fois gras takoyaki, bulgogi brochette, and uni carbonara — to name a few.

Beyond what is offered in their vast menu of main courses and appetizers, Don’t Tell also has a huge selection of signature desserts to pair with a night of fine dining and music.

Most notable is a menu item which bears the restaurant and club’s namesake.

The ‘DON’T TELL’ has been described as an “interactive dessert,” built on a base of seasonal flavours, while other desserts include a yuzu meringue pie and liquid chocolate takoyaki.

While a few glimpses of its vibe and a showcase of menu items are public, Don’t Tell is shaping up to be a place that needs to be seen — and heard — to be believed.

Don’t Tell is now open at 59 Ossington Ave.

Reservations can be made on their official website.
