“It’s a great feeling; a pressure lifted off us.”

A retiree from Stoney Creek won the $1 million guaranteed prize in the June 30 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Luciano Carbone, 65, is a regular lottery player.

“My wife scanned my ticket early one morning and neither of us could believe what we were seeing, so we called our kids over to double-check,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“The kids were just as surprised as us when they saw it.”

Carbone says he plans to complete some renovations, purchase a car, take a vacation, and share with his children.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Rutherford Rd in Woodbridge.
