Are you a Brampton resident with an old water meter that needs replacing? You’re in luck.

Starting February 14, the Region of Peel will be implementing a Water Meter Replacement program in relation to its ongoing maintenance of the water meter system within the region.

Brampton or Caledon residents with a water meter that is over 20 years can expect a letter from the Region, indicating the need for a mandatory replacement appointment.

The process involves removing the old meter from inside the residence, and replacing it with a new reading device, in addition to the new meter.

There will be no charge for the replacement meter, either.

All residents who receive a letter are asked to contact Neptune Technology Group Canada Ltd., who will be conducting the replacements. The process will take about an hour or less, and you must be 18 and over to book the appointment and be at home at the time of installation.

Appointments can be made Monday to Friday, betweem 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and also on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
