Baked goods are always a treat, so diners might be happy to hear that a new bakery is now open in Square One in Mississauga.

LGU Bakery is a Latin bakery that serves up a variety of hand-crafted goods. According to the website, the shop starts baking before sunrise each day to ensure that every batch is as fresh as possible.

The menu boasts both sweet and savoury items.

Foodies can try savoury (beef, chicken or cheese) empanadas made from scratch, a ham/cheese pie, a spinach pie and delicious crustless sandwiches.

If you’re in the mood for something sweet, you can try one of their chocolate bombs that come in a variety of flavours, sweet empanadas, decadent and plain churros, sandwich cookies, cupcakes and more.

The bakery also serves keto-friendly dishes such as empanadas, a cheesy pull-apart loaf, cheese bread, pumpkin cheesecake bites, bagels, loaves of bread, and brownies.

The website lists exactly how many calories, carbs and protein are in each baked good and there is a detailed explanation of the ingredients used.

If you’re celebrating something special, you can check out their creative and Insta-worthy churro cakes. All churro cakes have a centre of vanilla, chocolate, red velvet sponge, or cheesecake strawberry, or you can request peaches and pineapple as an option. The churros are then filled with either dulce de leche, Nutella or custard.

The bakery is located in The Food District but due to lockdown measures, only delivery is available.

All orders must be placed 24 hours in advance.
