A lot of Indigo-branded products recalled in Mississauga, Brampton and beyond

Residents of Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and across Ontario may want to check their cupboards for these items bought at the Indigo store, as Health Canada has set a recall.

Select ceramic mugs, mug ornaments and houseware items sold between Aug. 2022 and Dec. 2022, could have been exposed to humid conditions leading to potential mould growth under the glazed surface of the products.

Risks: The ingestion of mould may cause gastrointestinal symptoms and infections to those with weakened  immune systems.

Below are some of the recalled items:

  • The Best Grandma Mug Ornament
  • Ridged Oval Platter Ivory
  • Best Brother Mug
  • House Cookie Jar
  • Good Earth Mug
  • Fawn’d Of You Deer Mug

What you should do: Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the recalled products and go to the nearest Indigo store and return it, in exchange for a full refund.

As of January 30, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
