Brampton has 6 hotspot that are among the highest COVID-19 positivity in Ontario

Seven areas in Brampton are among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.
Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of May 23 to 29.
Of the top 50 listed, seven are in Brampton (compared to eight the previous week):
L6R at 12.18% (area of Sandalwood Pkwy E and Torbram)
10th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (30th highest during previous week)
L6S at 11.32% (area of Williams Pkwy and Bramalea Rd)
11th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (40th during previous week)
L6T at 10.22% (area of Highway 407 and Airport Rd)
21st highest percent positivity area in Ontario (9th during previous week)
L6X at 9.55% (area of Williams Pkwy and James Potter Rd)
32nd highest percent positivity area in Ontario (10th during previous week)
L6P at 9.41% (area of The Gore and Castlemore)
33rd highest percent positivity area in Ontario (33rd highest during previous week)
L6Y at 9.35% (area of Chinguacousy and Steeles Ave W)
35th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (24th during previous week)
L6Z at 9.34% (area of Kennedy and Sandalwood Pkwy E)

For the same week, Mississauga had six areas listed in the top 50.
The same data for the week indicates that out of all of Ontario’s 34 public health units, Peel Region (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon) has the second worst COVID-19 percent positivity in the province.
For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of May 23 was 4.3%, a drop from 6.2% the previous week.
Ontario has reached 63% overall vaccine coverage among those aged 12 and up, a 6% increase from the previous week.
