Oshawa man part of pair charged after Mississauga carjacking

A 21-year-old man from Oshawa faces numerous charges in connection with an armed carjacking in Mississauga. One suspect also remains at large.

Peel Regional Police said that at 8:20 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 6), the victim drove his vehicle to the Hurontario St. / Square One Dr. area in Mississauga for a “pre-arranged” business meeting. Police added that the victim was seated in his luxury vehicle when three suspects approached.

“After a brief conversation, the suspects allegedly demanded his vehicle at gunpoint,” Peel police stated on Tuesday. “The victim complied, exited his vehicle, and the three suspects drove off. The victim sustained no physical injuries.”

Police found the vehicle near Finch Ave. and Hwy. 400 in Toronto. Assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, York Regional Police, and the Toronto Police led to the vehicle being stopped, and two suspects Service, the vehicle was stopped resulting in two of the three suspects being arrested. A third suspect remains outstanding, although Peel police did not release a description.

Two loaded firearms — Glock 46 compact .45-calibre firearm and a Glock 26 9-mm firearm with an extended magazine — were located, the police said. Investigators also found another extended magazine containing 30 rounds of 9-mm ammunition.

Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing in a Brampton court.

Demouy Blair, 21, of Oshawa, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Disguise with Intent to commit an offence
  • Pointing a firearm (two counts)
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of firearm in motor vehicle
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

Emmanuel Ezbon, 19, of Toronto, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Disguise with intent to commit an offence
  • Pointing a firearm (two counts)
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of firearm in motor vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device (three counts)
  • Breach of probation order
  • Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order

Ezbon was bound by a probation order with conditions not to possess any weapons.
