Farm animals die in barn fire north of Caledon

Several farm animals have died after a barn went up in flames north of Caledon yesterday (Feb 2.).

The OPP says officers from the Dufferin Detachment were called to a property 8th Line in Amaranth, some 40 kilometres north of Caledon, for reports of a barn fire.

Firefighters from multiple local fire departments battled the blaze and while no humans were injured, police say several farm animals died in the fire.

The Shelburne Fire is investigating and the fire has been deemed “non-suspicious,” police said.
