A cheese product is being recalled in Ontario this week (Jan. 25-29) posing potential health risks. This includes stores in Mississauga and Brampton.

The Mother Dairy brand Paneer Fresh Cheese is being recalled due to generic E. coli.

Residents are being advised to check if they have these products at home and should avoid consumption.

The following products are affected:

Mother Dairy  Paneer Fresh Cheese

Risk: Microbial contamination of E. Coli.

What you should do: Residents should refrain from consumption and it is advised to throw the product out.

Risk: While in use, the oven component of the gas range can emit dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, resulting in serious injury or poisoning leading to death.

What you should do: Consumers of the product should immediately stop using the oven until it has been repaired. The range tops are unaffected by the issue and no precautions need to be made.

Ortal TR90 and TR110 Gas Fireplaces

Risk: Due to importer installation of the fireplaces, it can cause issues with heat release or ventilation and become a fire hazard.

What you should do: The recalled fireplace should immediately stop being used. Consumers must contact Ortal and arrange for a free inspection to determine if a replacement retrofit can be issued.
