Burlington teen faces charges after gunshots fired during break-in

A Burlington man is facing several gun and drug charges after being arrested last night by Halton police.
Police were investigating a Monday incident where a shot was fired inside a condo unit in the area of Dundas Street and Sutton Drive in Burlington. Two suspects gained entry and, during the incident, a gun was fired. The shot did not strike anyone and no physical injuries were reported. Both suspects fled the scene in a red Kia.
Investigators were able to identify one of the suspects and his vehicle was located in a residential area in Burlington. At around 10 p.m. yesterday, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Whittaker Dr. in Burlington.
During the investigation, officers also seized quantities of cocaine and fentanyl.
Savion Beckford-Salmon, 19, of Burlington has been arrested and charged with:
- Break and enter
- Pointing a firearm
- Discharging a firearm
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Breach of undertaking
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police are still looking for a second suspect, described only as a black male.
