Police investigating after man seriously injured in stabbing in Welland

A man has sustained life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in Welland, police say.

Niagara Regional Police say officers were called to a residence in the Margery Road and McMaster Avenue area in the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 4. Once on scene, police say they found a male victim in his 30s suffering from serious stab wounds.

He was subsequently transported to hospital.

Police allege the stabbing occurred after the victim and another male got into an argument at the residence. According to police, the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police believe the victim was targeted.
