Photo released of man suspected of committing robbery at Hamilton ATM

Hamilton police have released a picture of a suspect in a robbery that occurred about six weeks ago.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23, shortly before 1:30 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the CIBC located at 1882 King St. E. and approached the victim from behind while they were using the ATM. As the money was dispensed, the suspect demanded the victim turn over the funds.

The suspect obtained the cash and fled on foot to a white SUV parked in the branch parking lot. The vehicle was last observed travelling northbound on Rosedale Ave. towards Lawrence Rd.

During the incident the suspect was in possession of an edged weapon believed to be a knife.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as male, white, 5’9-5’10, heavy build, thinning hair, blue medical mask, sunglasses, black t-shirt, white gloves and jeans.

Investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this robbery.
