Oakville store robbed twice within a week, victim’s family has started fundraiser

An Oakville convenience store that has been robbed twice inside a week has had a fundraising effort started to help the owners recover.
In and Out Convenience, at 108 Burnhamthorpe Rd. E., posted to social media that the break-ins affected not only goods and money, but their passion to run the business.
“We were trying to establish a business, but these crimes really hurt us financially and emotionally,” said the post.
The fundraiser on GoFundMe has a goal of $10,000 and has been organized by Aiysha Hussain, the sister of the store owner.
“As many of you know, In and Out Convenience in Oakville was broken into twice within one week. These heinous acts have profoundly impacted my brother’s livelihood as a small business owner,” wrote Hussain on the fundraising page.

“He invested all his savings in opening his first business in April 2022. It breaks my heart to see how hard he has worked to establish himself, support his family and provide a unique service to the local community, only to have been the target of criminal behaviour.”
Hussain said her brother has had to close the store as the losses and damages are too severe.
“These incidents have caused my brother extreme stress and trauma as he has no other means of income to cover losses and expenses.”
