Fire crews knock down early morning blaze in Brampton

Firefighters battled a blaze in Brampton early on Wednesday morning (Oct. 5).

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said crews were called to a home in the area of Fernforest Dr. and Sandalwood Pkwy. East for reports of a fire.

Photos taken at the scene show thick, black smoke coming from the front door of a two-storey home.

Brampton Fire said crews tackled flames inside the home and were able to get the fire under control by around 3:30 a.m.

Peel Regional Police and Peel Paramedics were also on scene, and no injuries were reported due to the fire.

Brampton Fire did not comment on the extent of the damage or what may have caused the blaze.
