A stop at the gas station should be on the must-do list Tuesday (Oct. 4) for drivers in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills.

Otherwise you’ll be shelling out way more cash to fill that vehicle this week as gas prices are set to jump a shocking 10 cents to 162.9 cents per litre in Halton Region and most of the GTA on Wednesday, according to Canadians for Affordable Energy President Dan McTeague.

The one-day rise in prices is one of the highest in quite some time.

Even with the hit to the pocket book, Ontario still remains one of the cheapest provinces to buy gas in Canada.

Drivers in Vancouver will get a two cent decrease Wednesday, but will still have to shell out a whopping 235.9 cents per litre, the highest price across the country.

Edmonton remains the cheapest at 156.9 cents per litre.

The cheapest price in Ontario will be in Peterborough where a litre of gas will set you back 158.9 cents. That’s a remarkable 18 cent price jump from Tuesday.

Here are the cheapest prices Tuesday in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills:

OAKVILLE

152.6 cents per litre at Pioneer (2451 Lakeshore Rd.)

BURLINGTON

150.9 cents per litre at Esso (1170 Guelph Line)

MILTON
