Milton Public Library hosting event with award-winning journalist

Milton Public Library (MPL) will be hosting an event with an award-winning journalist later this month.

The event will feature Rick Westhead, a senior correspondent for TSN and an award-winning investigative journalist.

Westhead was born in Oakville and raised in Burlington and is best known for writing for TSN.ca and reporting on SPORTSCENTRE.

Westhead also made global news back in May when he reported that Hockey Canada paid 3.5 million dollars to settle a lawsuit.

The lawsuit involved a woman who accused eight members of the world junior team of sexually assaulting her back in 2018.

Since then, Westhead’s work has revealed more about the way Hockey Canada handles sexual misconduct allegations, the toxic culture of hockey and questions about the future of the sport.

At the event, Westhead will speak to patrons about his investigative work and what he has learned so far.
