Ajax man charged after loaded gun found during traffic stop

A loaded gun was discovered during a routine traffic stop in Oshawa Friday.

Central East Division officers conducted the traffic stop near John St. W and Centre St. S at approximately 7:30 p.m. on September 30 and found the 28 year-old driver in possession of a loaded gun, ammunition and cannabis “readily available.”

Romaro Cameron of Ajax faces several firearm-related charges including unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; loaded prohibited firearm; careless storage of a firearm; drive vehicle with cannabis readily available; and two counts of breach of prohibition order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
