With just three weeks to go before the municipal elections the races are heating up and the debates are moving from the planning stage to execution as voters try to determine their best choice for their local council.

Oshawa has two debates early this week with a Ward 4 all-candidates debate tonight and a mayoral debate tomorrow morning.

All three regional councillor hopefuls and all five candidates seeking the local councillor position are committed to tonight’s Ward 4 debate, which will take place at the Biltmore Theatre from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The debate, which is presented by the Downtown Oshawa Business Alliance, is free to the public.

  • Regional Councillor candidates: Jeff Davis, Rick Kerr (Inc) and Doug Sanders.
  • Local Councillor candidates: James Bountrogiannis, Fred Eismont, Derek Giberson (Inc), Mark Logan, Dave Thompson.

The Oshawa Mayoral Debate will be live on https://www.rogerstv.com/home?lid=14&rid=2 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Incumbent Dan Carter will be joined by Joe Ingino and Sara Lear. The debate will be moderated by Peter Bocking, the president of the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce.
