Here’s what’s open and closed in Oakville on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Town of Oakville will be closing some of its facilities in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Friday, Sept. 30.
Oakville is steeped rich in the history and modern traditions of many First Nations and the Métis.
“We acknowledge and thank the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation for being stewards of this territory,” the Town said in a media release.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a federal statutory holiday. The special holiday coincides with Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30. and honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
To report emergencies related to roads, traffic lights and signs, parks and trees or flooding and storms outside of ServiceOakville’s hours of operation, residents should call 905-845-6601 to be connected with our afterhours dispatch service.
Non-urgent reports can also be made using the town’s online services.
