A “Go Green” event is taking place this weekend in the Town of Halton Hills.

The event, behind hosted by the Town, aims to raise awareness about climate change on a local level while also encouraging residents to take actions that support a low-carbon community.

It will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre, located at 9 Church St. in Georgetown.

The free event is offered in partnership with local businesses, environmental groups, Plug’n Drive, and the Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre.

“Come out and get inspired! Learn about the actions that you can take to support a healthier environment through home improvements, lifestyle and moving about in the community,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.

“Through Town Council’s direction, staff have done an exceptional job in advancing our green agenda to support our climate emergency declaration of becoming a net-zero community by 2030. Now it’s the community’s turn to recognize the actions we can all take to reduce our impact on the environment.”
