Big Blue House lot is for sale in Brampton

A vacant lot is up for sale in Brampton for $990,000, priced above listings with actual homes on the land.
But cost isn’t the only thing noteworthy about this listing located at 443 Centre St. N.
This site was the home of the former “Big Blue House”, a 6,600 square foot half-finished monstrosity that sat on the corner of Centre St. and Hinchley Wood Grv.
The story of the Big Blue House goes back to 2013 when the City of Brampton began their fight against the owner to revoke their building permit.
Neighbours complained as the house did not look like it belonged in the neighbourhood.
Next to single floor bungalows, the house was out of place as its shadow and shape loomed over all the other houses.

Finally in 2017, a judge sided with Brampton on the decision and ordered the house to be torn down.
Since the demolition, there has been little mention of the 70.5 x 116 square-foot vacant lot, until the listing appeared on Realtor.ca that is.

Priced at $990,000 Realtor.ca says the site is a “great opportunity for investors to build a custom home or potentially multi-unit homes in a prime Brampton location.”
The listing has been on the site for almost two-and-a-half months.
