Severe thunderstorm watch and nickel size hail possible in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton

Thunderstorm warning Mississauga

There is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton Region.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

There is a chance that strong wind gusts can get up to up to 100 km/h.

As well, up to nickel size hail possible.

This is expected mid day and continuing into this afternoon.

A line of severe thunderstorms currently just west of London is moving northeast over the area. Strong wind gusts and hail are possible with this line.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

Locally heavy rain is also possible. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
