It’s going to be a messy day for commuters in southern Ontario.

There is still a special weather statement in effect for Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and Burlington.

Rain and strong winds are expected today (March 25) that will start this morning and go into this evening.

There will be a brief risk of freezing rain early this morning.

In addition, strong winds gusting up to 70 or 80 km/h are also expected today into tonight. High winds may toss loose objects or cause small tree branches to break. Local utility outages are possible.

A brief period of snow or freezing rain is possible this morning but will quickly transition to rain as temperatures rise above zero this morning.
