80 km winds coming to Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and Durham Region

It’s going to get very windy in Southern Ontario.

A special weather statement is in effect for:

  • Mississauga – Brampton
  • Hamilton
  • Burlington – Oakville
  • Caledon
  • Halton Hills – Milton
  • Durham Region
  • Niagara Region

There are going to be strong winds on Saturday. The strong south to southwesterly winds will gusts to 70 km/h.
A few gusts to 80 km/h are possible.

The winds will begin Saturday afternoon and ending Saturday night.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Isolated power outages are possible.

A cold front associated with a strengthening area of low pressure will move across the area Saturday evening. Strong southerly winds beginning Saturday afternoon ahead of the front will veer to southwesterly Saturday evening.

Winds will begin to ease later Saturday evening.
