Police are on the hunt for eight teens who robbed a Mississauga student at knifepoint as he left school for the day on Feb. 13.

Peel Regional Police say the victim was leaving a middle school in the Havenwood Dr./Haven Glenn area of east Mississauga at about 2:40 p.m. that day when he was surrounded by what investigators say was a group of eight masked male teens.

While police wouldn’t name the school, two schools are located in that area–St. Sofia Separate School and Glenhaven Senior Public School.

During the swarming-style robbery, one culprit pulled out a large black knife and threatened the victim, police say.

The suspects stole the victim’s Nike Tech sweater before fleeing the scene on foot.

The boy was not physically injured, police say.

Youth crime detectives from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau describe the culprits as 15-16 years old, all wearing black ski masks and black clothes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
