A 77-year-old Mississauga man faces cocaine trafficking and other charges after police stopped a suspicious vehicle in Orillia on Tuesday night.

Ontario Provincial Police said a traffic complaint from the public led them to pull over a car at about 8 p.m. in the city of about 33,000 people located some 35 kilometres northeast of Barrie.

“While conducting the traffic stop, officers observed drugs and drug paraphernalia,” Orillia OPP said in a news release on Wednesday.

A man was then taken into custody without incident, police added.

Officers seized 110 grams of cocaine, 228 grams of fentanyl, a small amount of cash and a cellphone.

A 77-year-old Mississauga man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking opioid.

He’s scheduled to appear in Orillia court on Wednesday.
