76-year-old dead after hit-and-run in Hamilton

Police are investigating a fatal collision that took place Friday night (Sept. 17) in Hamilton.

Around 8 p.m., a 76 year old male was walking southbound on the shoulder of Centre Road in Flamborough when he was struck by a northbound motor vehicle.

“The driver of the motor vehicle then fled the scene,” said police.

The male was transported to Hamilton General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white Nissan SUV that will have damage to its front.

Police say this is the city’s 11th fatality of the year, and the fourth involving a pedestrian.

Hamilton police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation. Witnesses and anyone with information are asked to contact police at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755.
