Halton Region Public Health continues encouraging residents to complete both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine this summer in order to gain full protection against the virus as well as help prevent a fourth wave in the fall.

As of Friday, August 6, 2021, a total of 790,654 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton, which includes 408,622 first doses and 382,032 second doses.

This represents 82 per cent of Halton’s population ages 12 and up who have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 72 per cent who have received both doses.

Additionally, appointments can be booked online at community clinics, at select primary care offices or pharmacies in Halton.

All residents are eligible to receive a second dose of the vaccine after a minimum of 28 days. Anyone who has appointments booked in September and October is urged to reschedule to an earlier date as soon as possible.
