A huge Lotto Max jackpot is up for grabs in Canada ahead of the Easter long weekend.
The Lotto Max prize pool for Friday night’s draw stands at $70 million, along with an estimated 10 Maxmillion prizes worth $1 million each.
A big win naturally gets people thinking about how they would spend it, and a recent OLG survey offers a glimpse into how Ontarians say they would share the prize.
The survey found that 80 per cent of Ontarians would donate a portion of their winnings to charity, while 75 per cent said they would share any prize if the ticket was gifted to them. Just one per cent said they would keep the full amount to themselves.
Tickets for the draw can be purchased online through OLG.ca or at authorized retailers across the province until 10:30 p.m.
OLG also says major changes are coming to Lotto Max later this month.
Beginning April 14, the jackpot can grow as high as $90 million, with multiple $100,000 prizes available in every draw. Tickets will include four selections of seven numbers, with numbers ranging from one to 52 for $6, and improved overall odds of winning any prize.
Lotto Max players in Ontario have collectively won billions since the game launched, with proceeds supporting public programs and services across the province.
OLG is a provincial Crown agency responsible for lottery games, land-based gaming facilities and internet gaming in Ontario, with profits directed toward public programs and services.
